One Life

Amidst the crush of humanities’
frantic rush through life
one life ends
one life begins
barely noted.

Passing on of spirit and soul
accompanied by the entrance
of an untainted one.
In each case a small eddy
swirls around
the event that is

The Most significant
event for handful of people.
The waves made as
one life ends
one life begins
swallowed up by a
sea of humanity.

The ebb and flow of the tide
continuous and unchanging.
Lives that are in turmoil
fold into lives that are at peace
and through it all

one life ends
one life begins
