Forever Long

I feel like I am walking down
a forever long hallway

It’s extra dark now
that I am beyond
all the distraction doors
past any escape windows
I could have choose

I wonder
Do I run
Or walk in a hallway
that has this length
Hurry through
or save my strength
I wonder
does it matter how I travel it
or only that I am
I wonder
Do I even have the choice anymore
Then I chide myself
‘we always have choice’
they say

I doubt very much they
Were ever in
A forever long hallway
