Mykel and Moonfyre "met"
by passing by each other, years before they actually got to
know each other... Then one afternoon in the summer of 1999 they
ended up spending a few hours in the same room and got to talking.
Discovering that they were both writers, they spent hours talking
about their various ongoing projects. Resulting in the suggestion to
send each other there "stuff" in e-mail, which to their surprise
they actually DID, and subsequently began to write together.
Sending parts of a story that they were developing to each other in
e-mail led into a sharing of poetry and lyrics and a
developing friendship. They would get
together for coffee and brainstorming sessions about once or twice a month.
One fine autumn day Mykel
brought his guitar along and Moonfyre fell under the spell of his
music. She was entranced by the mood of the songs, in awe of his
playing ability and encouraged him to keep bringing the guitar to
their brainstorming sessions. Mykel had been playing guitar and
writing music for 15 yrs or more, had enjoyed some radio play,
embracing his craft as hobby and a passion. Moonfyre began to sing
along to his words, adding some of her own. She has a background in drama and
modeling, and singing in a choir... Mykel heard something in her voice and
pressed her develop it.
Their personal relationship was
developing during this time as well even though they were both very embittered
about the whole love "game" part of them realized that they had a
connection to each other that was deep and unexplainable. Guided
by their soul judgment alone,
they allowed themselves to be open and free with each other, the
safety net of "you are my friend" allowing them to not see the
developing love. Even when Everyone around them saw it, they stubbornly
insisted that their relationship was more of a "soul sibling"
variety. Eventually they stopped running away from the obvious and
began to admit to each other "I know you love me"
advancing that to the
next step of "I love you" took a bit more time. All this time they
were singing and writing songs together, their passion pouring
into the music and life a song takes on of its own when it
is experienced as you sing and develop it.
Now they
live together in the *best relationship ever* and
delight at watching people move into the music and identify with
their sound.
Mykel, Moonfyre and family
decided to go out one fine afternoon for dinner.. at the same time
everyone else in the city had that idea! So while they were
standing in the foyer of the restaurant waiting the "15 minutes"
for a table Mykel noticed Moonfyre's attention drawn into
the scene before them.
She was looking at the
restaurant full of tables all the tables filled with people and
thinking about how each one of those groups of people was an
Universe unto its own. they each had over lapping lives to the
extant they were sitting an eating at the same table. but those
"universe's" didn't connect at all with the group a the table next
to them. each table consisted of individual universe's that were
all encompassing and yet not.
Turning to Mykel she said " Look
at all the pocket universe's"
In response He said " Pocket
Universe? Sounds like a band name"
And so it is....
They forged Pocket Universe out
of love for each other and of their music. With the release of
their Instrumental Album "Into the Abyss"
Mykel and Moonfyre have made the commitment to take the music as
far is it can go, to touch as many universe's out there as they
can.
This brings us to today, they
have opened the doors and warmly welcome you into their Pocket Universe. In its
