Police Winter Day
Sun-sparkled
Single and frozen
A tear upon her face
Head pillowed
by the pristine snow
Body curled
under its frigid blanket
We, chosen, by fate
to chip her from
this icy, shallow grave
We gasp, we choke,
we curse, we cry
We shake our heads
We wonder why...
this morbid winter
has no conscience
Sun-sparkled
Single and frozen
....one drop
of mourning, no doubt
for her unborn
