    obscure, tangled miseries
threaten to drown the me that was

    ...please, I implore...
        ...hear my protesting cries

of thought strike
forceful,
    monstrous ogres
drop palpable darkness
    ruthless, brutal aches
prepare an impenetrable shroud

    ...please, I beg...
        ...save me from demise

of belief spring
hesitant,
    flighty nymphs
scatter delicate wisps
    elusive, wild hopes
quell fear of being tossed aside

    ...Please, I weep...
        ...help me slip these ties
